Joseph Tambellini Restaurant

Refined Classical Cuisine

About Joseph Tambellini

Chef Joseph Tambellini began his career in the kitchen of his father's restaurant in 1978 at the age of 12.

Robert Tambellini and his brother Joseph (Zio Joe) owned and operated Robert Tambellini Restaurant at 947 Liberty Ave in downtown Pittsburgh from 1965 until 1991.  An old school Italian immigrant, Robert insisted that his sons begin working at the family business as soon as they were legally able to obtain a work permit (Robert was a very law abiding person).  His older son, Tom, quickly learned that he was not cut out for the restaurant business, but Joseph was a natural from the very start.

For 28 years now, Joseph has followed in his father's footsteps, working at finer restaurants and gaining the experience necessary to confidently prepare the very best refined classical cuisine.  With deep seated roots in rich Italian tradition, a true feel for textures and flavors, and years of long days in the kitchen, Chef Joseph will delight your senses with his incredible dishes.

This loving father of two beautiful daughters, along with his wife, Melissa, invite you to come in and enjoy the fruits of their hard labor.  Decades in the making, Joseph Tambellini Restaurant has finally arrived and Chef Joseph Tambellini puts his heart into every dish.
